HOMER AREA COMMUNITY FOUNDATION UNRESTRICTED FUND

The purpose of this fund is to improve the quality life for residents of the Homer area.

BARTON FARM CO. ENDOWMENT FUND

This fund was established by Roxanne Barton. Roxanne, her husband Bruce, and his parents Mike and Kathy Barton want to thank the Homer community for their support of Barton Farms. In addition, the Barton’s feel very fortunate that they have been able to employ talented students from the Homer area throughout the year.
Established 2006.

BESSIE EDWARDS EDUCATION FUND

Bessie Edwards was a life long resident of Homer who wished her bequest to be used for “the enrichment of educational programs.” All grants awarded from this fund go exclusively to Homer Community Schools.
Established 1994.

Folk Family Fund

This donor advised fund was established to support charitable purposes.

This fund was established by the Folk Family to be used exclusively for Homer Community Schools.

HARRY AND LINDA LUCYSHYN MEMORIAL ENDOWMENT FUND

Harry Lucyshyn and Linda (Hyde) Lucyshyn were graduates of Homer High School. They both attended Michigan State University. Linda majored in speech and audiology and Harry majored in Veterinary Medicine. Harry and Linda married and returned to Homer where they worked and were active in the community. They had one son, Greg Lucyshyn, who graduated from Homer High School. Harry passed away in 1981 and Linda passed later in 1983. This scholarship was established in 1997 in their memory. Scholarship recipients will be pursuing a degree in audiology or veterinary medicine.

HOMER AREA COMMUNITY FOUNDATION OPERATING ENDOWMENT FUND

The purpose of this fund is to improve the quality of life for residence of the Homer area.

HOMER AREA COMMUNITY YOUTH FUND (YAC)

The purpose of this fund is to promote programs and activities that positively enhance youth development and leadership in the Homer Area Community Foundation’s geographic service area.

HOMER ARTS ENDOWMENT FUND

The purpose of this fund is to support the charitable, artistic, and cultural activities/events within the Homer area.

HOMER EARLY CHILDHOOD ENDOWMENT FUND

The Homer Early Childhood Fund was established to give three and four year old children an opportunity to begin their school experience feeling comfortable and confident, allowing children to gain social skills and develop a greater awareness and understanding of the world around them; thus developing the whole child.

HOMER ENVIRONMENTAL FUND

Established to continue supporting efforts to restore Homer Lake’s recreational value, as well as other projects that impact the protection, conservation, and restoration of natural resources in the Homer area.

HOMER FIREFIGHTERS’ ASSOCIATION

The purpose of this fund is to provide support of the Homer Fire Department.

HOMER HEALTHY ENDOWMENT FUND

Eligible charitable programs are those that focus on healthy youth and senior living. Funded from the State of Michigan Tobacco Settlement Partnership. Eligible charitable programs are those that would improve the health of youth and seniors, which may include, but are not limited to, programs that focus on health and nutrition, family counseling, early childhood development, smoking prevention and cessation, day care, preschool and after-school care. Funds may not be used for capital expenses and must supplement and not replace existing expenditures of the community foundation.

HOMER HISTORICAL SOCIETY ENDOWMENT FUND

This Fund was established for the purpose of preserving and protecting the history of Homer, its landmarks, stories and artifacts, to inform and educate, and to further the purposes of the museum.

HOMER PUBLIC LIBRARY ENDOWMENT FUND

This fund was established to support Homer Public Library whose mission is to provide the services and material that will best provide entertainment and educational value to the community that we serve.

HOMER RECYCLING FACILITIES COMMUNITY PROJECT FUND

The purpose of this fund is to support the activities of the Homer Recycling Center Facilities.

HOMER SAVE THE LAKE COMMUNITY PROJECT FUND

This fund was established to support the Homer Lake maintenance and improvements.

HOMER VILLAGE COUNCIL COMMUNITY PROJECT FUND

The purpose of this fund is to provide support Village of Homer enhancements that would not normally be provided with public funds.

Joe Miller Family Fund

This donor advised fund was established to support charitable purposes.

MILLER FAMILY FUND

This donor advised fund was established to support charitable purposes.

PAUL AND MAURINE SINCLAIR SCHOLARSHIP AND YOUTH ENDOWMENT FUND

This fund was established in 2007 by the estate of Maurine Sinclair. Paul and Maurine Sinclair were both raised in Homer and graduated from Homer High School. Mr. Sinclair had a career in banking and Mrs. Sinclair was a kindergarten teacher. Youth were always important to the Sinclair’s. They hosted several foreign exchange students in their home and Mrs. Sinclair was the first guardian of the Campfire Girls of Homer. Grants from this fund may be used for purposes including, but not limited to the following examples: Youth educational related projects; scholarships for youth activities; and Classroom educational activities.

PETREDEAN FAMILY FUND

This donor advised fund was established to support charitable purposes.

PS FOOD MART BUSINESS FUND

This donor advised fund was established to support charitable purposes.

PS FOOD MART CHARITIES FUND

Since 2010 the annual “Fight Hunger Give Hope” campaign has been able to provide financial support to the South Michigan Food Bank, SeaGate Food of Toledo and numerous local food pantries and school weekend backpack programs in communities wherever PS Food Mart operates.

ROCKWELL FAMILY FUND

This donor advised fund was established to support charitable purposes.

SHERMAN FAMILY FUND

This fund was established to support charitable activities in the greater Homer area.

SWOPE FAMILY FUND
