George and Betty Petredean Scholarship
Established in 1994, George and Betty Petredean feel very fortunate that they had caring adults who encouraged and assisted them in pursuing a college education. They established the George and Betty Petredean Scholarship Fund for graduates of Homer High School. Each year, two graduates are awarded a scholarship, which is renewable for
three years. They are very appreciative of what they have had and enjoy sharing their good fortune.
"I hope later in life the scholarship recipients will be able to do the same."
This scholarship is $2,000 yearly, which is renewable for a total of $8,000 upon meeting certain requirements for three years. Recipients of this scholarship should exhibit strong academic performance, leadership skills, and community involvement. Extra consideration is given to family members or descendents of present or past employees of Calhoun Foundry and Trojan Heat Treat.
