Applying for a Grant

THE UNRESTRICTED FUND, BESSIE EDWARDS EDUCATION FUND, AND THE YOUTH FUND PROPOSALS MUST INCLUDE:

  1. 1. Organization name, date, address, phone number, contact name, authorized signature, and amount requested.
  2. 2. Description of yourself or organization.
  3. 3. Summarize the purpose of your request. What will you specifically do with requested funds? Include examples, where appropriate, of community support, commitment to community improvement, and promotion of self-improvement for participating individuals.
  4. 4. Project timeline (approximate start, implementation and completion).
  5. 5. Describe the recipients of beneficiaries of this project or program.
  6. 6. Include a detailed budget along with other possible sources of funding.
  7. 7. Provide a description of your evaluation plan along with how you plan to continue the project of program (if applicable).
  8. 8. Provide an overview of the positive impact this project will have on this community. Detail what makes this project special. You may include supporting documents if desired.
  9. 9. Must be a 501 (c)(3) - not for profit.

The Homer Area Community Foundation asks that all applicants observe the following procedures when submitting proposals for the Unrestricted Fund, Bessie Edwards Education Fund, and the Youth Fund:

  1. 1. Include 13 copies of application.
  2. 2. Keep proposals to a maximum of 8 pages (including supporting materials).
  3. 3. Meet deadlines – late applications will be asked to resubmit for the following grant cycle.
  4. 4. Proposals must be signed by the superintendent of school or organization president prior to application to HACF.

GRANT DEADLINE: January 27 & SEPTEMBER 20, 2012.

Grants will be announced at the Scholarship Reception April 25, 2012 at 7:00pm, at the Homer Community House.

If your proposal is accepted by hacf, you will be required to complete a final report form outlining accomplishments and verifying fund expenditure as originally proposed. Failure to file a timely report will impact future funding.
